Queen of Colors Woes

The Queen of Colors has been extremely testy lately during her daily baths. It has been so difficult to get her to hold still while I scrub her hock and shanks. Perhaps she's troubled because she's full grown now and has yet to lay an egg. Any day now Q of C. Any day.

The kids are good to her, although she is definitely not good to them. My oldest, Fortify (age 4), consistently tells me that the Queen of Colors is capable of unspeakable evil. While she has been known to invite evil spirits into the home, I won't be worried until there's an actual death.

  1. Do Roosters lay eggs? Maybe you should listen to Fortify....out of the mouth of babes.

  4. I joined this site just so I could write a comment. Eli is crazy but a fun crazy. If the QofC ever lays an egg, you will be rolling in boocoos of money.

Looking forward to the next addition to your Blog.

  6. Dang it! Kaitlin totally stole my comment. But I am a 5' 9" 103.6 lb blonde "G" underware model (Utah version) for Desert Books. I like chickens and texting and especially Snuggies. I even have the Snuggy Sutra book. It's really hot. I'd love to read it to you over a warm glass of non-carbonated beverage of your choice. Call me!

  7. I want to accidentally text you someday. That would be awesome.

  8. I could only hope that I have the chance to accidentally send you a text. Best. Thing. Ever.

If I ever got replies like that to a random text, and found out it was not my friend but a doppleganger, I would have to ask for a date. Coffee, drinks, trying on snuggies, throwing midgets... Something appropriate. But it would have to happen.

    You're my hero today.

  9. Ok. Of all the things I've read -- starting with the viral stuff. This post is my favorite. I love that you have a blogged-about chicken. Just like everyone else. Ugh. Can't tell you how much I enjoy reading about waiting for chickens to lay eggs. (My sympathy for Jane superseded my ability to laugh at her expense. Although, in round two, I think she walked right into that one.)(My dad used to do this to people who called wrong numbers, verbally. He actually had one girl thinking she was talking to her fiance for 1/2 hour. I think that takes talent.) Entertaining. I give you that.
